Will You Marry Me Lyrics Jason Derulo
[Intro]
Ooh, oh
Oh, yeah, mmmm
[Verse 1]
A hundred and five is the number that comes to my head
When I think of all the years I want to be with you
Wake up every morning with you in my bed
That's precisely what I plan to do
[Pre-Chorus]
And you know one of these days when I get my money right
Buy you everything and show you all of the finer things in life
We'll forever be in love so there ain't no need to rush
But one day I won't be able to ask you loud enough
[Chorus]
I'll say will you marry me?
I swear that I will mean it
I'll say will you marry me?
Singing, oh-woah
Oh, oh-woah
Oh-woah
Oh, yeah
[Verse 2]
How many girls in the world could make me feel like this?
Baby, I don't ever plan to find out
The more I look, the more I find the reasons why
You're the love of my life
[Pre-Chorus]
You know one of these days when I get my money right
Buy you everything and show you all of the finer things in life
We'll forever be in love so there ain't no need to rush
But one day I won't be able to ask you loud enough
[Chorus]
I'll say will you marry me?
I swear that I will mean it
I'll say will you marry me?
[Bridge]
And if I lost everything
In my heart it means nothing
'Cause I have you, girl, I have you
To get right down on bended knee
Nothing else would ever be better, better
The day when I
[Chorus]
I'll say will you marry me?
I swear that I will mean it
I'll say will you marry me? (Yeah)
I'll say will you marry me? (The day I get on my knees)
I swear that I will mean it
I'll say will you marry me? (And what you do to me, baby?)
Got me singing, oh-woah
Got me singing, oh-woah
Would you marry me, baby? Oh-woah
Oh-woah (ayy)
Oh-woah (yeah)
[Outro]
A hundred and five is the number that comes to my head
When I think of all the years I want to be with you
Wake up every morning with you in my bed
That's precisely what I plan to do

Background and release[edit]
During an interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Derulo revealed that he wrote the song as an ode to his, then girlfriend, singer Jordin Sparks.[2] He also shared his favorite lyric: ' '.. 105 is the number that comes to my head when I think of all the years I want to be with you.' It’s one of those things you want to wake up next to that person forever so 105 is the number that I thought of'.[2][3][4][5]
Music video[edit]
The music video to 'Marry Me' was released on Derulo's YouTube account on September 23, 2013. The video also features Jordin Sparks who appears on the video since Derulo dedicated to her.[6] The music video also premiered on BET's 106 & Park the same day. In the video, Derulo can be seen buying a ring, waking up with Sparks, Derulo playing the pianos while Sparks lays on top. Then, other scenes include the two of them relaxing in a bath tub, watching a movie, eating and fighting with flour. The older version of Derulo and Sparks at the end were played by Derulo's grandparents.
Critical reception[edit]
Karen Lanza of Popcruch said Derulo 'has simultaneously granted the world its next top wedding tune and given girlfriend Jordin Sparks good reason to go shopping for a fancy white gown' and called it an 'upbeat love song'[7] Arjanwrites.com praised Jason vocals and writing skill in the song stating 'Marry Me' neatly shows off Derulo's vocal chops and poignant songwriting savvy. It's a heartfelt, hook laden and soaring melodic ballad with a proper stomp that drives home the key message of the song.'[8]
Release and artwork[edit]
The artwork for the single features the diamond ring seen in Derulo's CGI neck tattoo on the album cover of Tattoos. The song made its world premiere of the new song on On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Monday August 26, 2013 and was made available for digital download through digital retailers on the day.[9]
