Ps3 Emulator Games

Posted by admin

A few years ago, most of us would have laughed at the notion of having a PS3 emulator that actually does something. Thanks to hundreds (more like thousands!) of hours dedicated to the emulator by the RPCS3 team, we can now play some PS3 games on our PCs!

PlayStation 3 Emulator RPCS3 is an experimental open-source Sony PlayStation 3 emulator and debugger written in C++ for Windows and Linux. RPCS3 began development in May of 2011 by its founders, DH and Hykem. Most games don't have any but if they do it's above the link (after solving the captcha) see picture here.

What’s RPCS3 and what can I play?

RPCS3 is an open-source emulator for the PS3 that runs on Windows and Linux computers. After years of development, the game compatibility list has been greatly diversified and now, about 278 games are rated as playable on the official compatibility list!

A few days ago, I decided to give RPCS3 a go on the laptop I’m currently using and it left me with my mouth open! I could actually play Project Diva F @ 720p with only little stutter, which thankfully wasn’t enough to render the game non-enjoyable (on most songs at least). The relevant specs of my laptop are:

  • Core i5-3230M @ 2.6GHz (dual-core + HT enabled)
  • 8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • Radeon HD 8750M

As you can see, it’s not some state-of-the-art latest gaming laptop so that means that RPCS3 can be used on mid-range systems from a few years back with varying rates of success depending on what you’re playing! Thanks to various optimisations, you will be able to run some PS3 games, even exclusives, on your computer depending on how powerful it is.

Project Diva F via RPCS3. Speed is decent enough to beat a song on Hard and get a Great rating!

Lots of work has been done on getting Persona 5, a recent release, working the best it could on RPCS3 and some people have already finished it solely on RPCS3 since you can get 15-60FPS in the game if you have a beefy enough system.

Great! What do I need to start gaming then?

To start playing PS3 games on your computer, simply follow the quick start guide linked below.

Remember, you must have a system that’s at least somewhat beefy in order to get anything working at decent speeds. You should also have the latest video drivers for the best Vulkan support (or to avoid a BSOD – my drivers were a tad too old and RPCS3 crashed the system when I opened the executable). You also have to remember that RPCS3 isn’t a tool to enable piracy so try to dump your own games either via a supported Blu-Ray drive or a PS3 on CFW.

RPCS3 isn’t meant to replace the PS3 just yet but it’s making large strides in that direction!

This emulator is so easy to use. Just meet your computer minimum system requirement and select your iso and run your PS3 game. A few more games have been brought to partial play-ability in 2016, including God of war III, How to Train Your Dragon and other games. The emulation suffers from low frame-rate, in the single-digits even with 8-core PCs, but the developers have worked to reduce the bugs present and have enabled many more games to at least load the title screen and intro. This emulator no needs another bios download.

Read how to install PS3 (RPCS3) emulator and enjoy your PS3 game on your computer. Like all other software and emulators also require a special requirement. Because it enables all the PS3 PSX games to run on your computer regardless of the operating system through this time, Rcps3 emulator support Windows 7 64 bit and Windows 8 64bit only.
