7.1 Audio Test

Posted by admin
Hey everyone,
I'm trying to decide if it is worth getting a new headset.
I'm currently using a pair of Sennheiser HD598s - http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-598-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B0042A8CW2
I'm looking at getting a HyperX Cloud II headset - http://www.hyperxgaming.com/us/cloud/hscp
The main reason I'm looking at getting this headset is for Counter Strike: Global Offensive. I wonder if this headset will allow me to better hear where enemies are coming from?
Basically, will 7.1 virtual surround allow me to pinpoint movement sounds better then stereo sound?
  • Jan 04, 2018  In my case, the test tones in the Mac MIDI Audio Devices 'Configure Speakers' screen all work fine, for the entire 7.1 Rear Surround config. But any speaker test file I've tried so far still seems to do that behavior of flipping or mixing the Surround and Rear Surround speakers.

A lot of players encounter the problem of not being able to extract the objects properly from the 7.1 bed when the audio is in MKV container (Although it still does give full 7.1 channel surround but the object information in a lot of bluray players is lost).
